Educational process at the Chair of Infectious Diseases

The following disciplines are assigned to the department:

    1. Infectious diseases (taught to students of 4, 5, 6 courses of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of the training of foreign citizens, 4 courses of the Dental Faculty);
    2. Children's infectious diseases (taught to students of 5, 6 courses of the Faculty of Medicine and 6 course of the Faculty of the training of foreign citizens);
    3. Epidemiology (taught to students of the 4th year of medical and dental faculties, Faculty of the training of foreign citizens);
    4. Tropical diseases (taught to the students of the 6th year of the Faculty of the training of foreign citizens)
    5.Elective course for 5th year students of the Faculty of Medicine "Evidence-Based Medicine", "Child Infectious Diseases in General Practice", "HIV Infection and Herpetic Infection", "Parasitic Infections in Countries in Tropical and Sub-tropical Climate"

The educational process is the most important part of the department's work. Theoretical and practical training of students is conducted by lecturing, practical classes in accordance with the curriculum, as well as by preparing the educational medical record, abstracts, situational problems solving, as well as participation in the work of scientific and practical conferences, academic competitions, etc. There are 18 thematic videos, 8 of which were prepared by the staff of the department. In recent years, the Department actively uses the system of distance learning of students on the basis of "MOODLE", which allows to improve the self-instruction and the control of knowledge of students.

Assessment of students is also carried out through recitation in class, testing of educational medical record, abstracts, current and examination testing, and the final exam.

Employees of the Department of Infectious Diseases are constantly working on training personnel through clinical residency. Over the past 30 years, more than 40 qualified Infectious Disease Physicians have been trained, who later became department heads and hospital managers.
