Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU and chief freelance specialist in ultrasound diagnostics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, visited the Ministry of Health to monitor the organization of work on prenatal diagnosis of congenital fetal abnormalities in healthcare institutions of the Grodno region. This visit was conducted in accordance with instructions from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

“The Iskra” youth party movement began working under the Belarusian “Belaya Rus” Party. Its first organizational meeting of participants took place on October 21, 2023.

Thirty candidates have been nominated from the regional branch of “the Belaya Rus” Party. Nikita Skaskevich, a student at VSMU's Pediatric Faculty, joined the Vitebsk regional headquarters of the youth movement.

On October 21, students and staff of VSMU participated in the voluntary republican public action "Give the Forest a New Life."

By university bus, students and staff led by Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work, arrived at Letchansky forestry, where they worked diligently, planting about a thousand three-year-old spruce seedlings.

On October 18, 2025, Vitebsk hosted the Vitebsk Region Open Mountain Biking Championship, where Grigory Zhukov, a 4th-year student of the Medical Faculty of VSMU, Master of Sports, took 1st place.

Vitebsk State Medical University has completed the next stage of training highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in accordance with Decree No. 561 of the President of the Republic of Belarus "On Training and Certification of Highly Qualified Scientists," dated December 1, 2011 (with amendments and additions).
