On October 23 2019, in the lobby of the first floor and lecture hall No. 3 of Vitebsk State Medical University, the by now already established event of international friendship "What Unites Us" was held as part of the creativity festival of medical students.

Our university can rightfully bear the name the Order of Peoples’ Friendship – in this evening all students merge into a single entity and the journey in the wonderful world of different cultures begins.

Overseas Students Training Faculty

From 2 to 5 June 2019, the Congress of the European-African Association of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgeons was held in Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

Rector, professor A.T. Shchastniy, assistant professor of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining Y.N. Orlovsky and M.I. Kugaev were present from university and made poster reports. Additionally, controversial issues and innovations in liver and pancreas gland surgery were considered at the conference, new technologies and equipment for minimally invasive interferences and visualization were presented.

For the university, the obtained exchange of experience will allow to introduce and improve the diagnosis and treatment of liver and pancreas glad pathologies, as well as to introduce new technologies in the educational process of the Department of Surgery.

1On 16 May 2019, Indian Ambassador, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to the Republic of Belarus, Mrs. Sanghita Bahadur, paid a visit to VSMU.

During this visit, Ms. Ambassador got acquainted with arrangement and material and technical facilities of our university, the organization of educational process in the departments of human anatomy and clinical microbiology, visited the anatomical museum.
