On June 27, 2025, a meeting of the University Council was held, at which decisions were made to nominate staff members for grants from the President of the Republic of Belarus in the fields of science, education, health and youth policy for 2026; to change the name of the department; a petition for awarding academic titles of professor and associate professor to university staff was supported; made a report on the ideological and educational work with the workforce in the 2024/2025 academic year; the issues of preparing the university for the new academic year are considered.

Dear graduates of VSMU in 2025!

On my own behalf and on behalf of the entire faculty of Vitebsk State Medical University, I sincerely congratulate you on a wonderful event in your life – successful graduation from the university!
I am sure that the knowledge and skills acquired within the walls of Alma Mater will help you cope with any professional challenges. However, colleagues, you must remember that a doctor studies all the life!

Do not forget your teachers who taught you everything they know and can do themselves. Set big goals for yourself, do not be afraid of difficult tasks, and worthily bear the title of a graduate of the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University!

On June 27, 2025, the volunteer group "Kind Heart" of the "BRYU" of the Vitebsk State Medical University took part in the cultural and educational patriotic action "Train of Memory".

For its 200 participants, descendants of the winners, representatives of the peoples of the 15 former republics of the Soviet Union, who won in 1945 the victory over Nazism, - this is not just a journey, but a symbol of the commonality of history and the continuity of generations.

The first stop of the route was Brest, then Grodno, Minsk, Gomel and now Vitebsk. The Train participants were given a fascinating tour of our beautiful city, during which they were able to get acquainted with the history and culture of Vitebsk.

The graduation ceremony of Vitebsk State Medical University for the graduates of the Faculty of Medicine was held on June 27, 2025.

384 graduates of the Faculty of Medicine, including 46 holders of diplomas with honors, are leaving Alma Mater.

The solemn event was attended by: the administration of VSMU, headed by the Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov, the Chairman of the State Examination Commission Irina Mikheenko, the Head of the the Department of Organizational work of the Vitebsk regional Organization of the BUHW Dmitry Parevsky, the Archpriest Sergiy Zakharov, the teaching staff, parents and friends of graduates.

On June 27, 2025, VSMU started accepting documents from the applicants who apply for targeted training and applicants who are the winners of the university Olympiad.

Alexey Chukanov, the Rector of VSMU, opened the admission campaign in 2025. He met with the applicants and their parents, wished them success in their admission and expressed confidence that Vitebsk State Medical University would become a reliable starting point for them in their profession.
