XII Congress of the European Laryngological Society was held in London on 16-19 May 2018.

Neuro-Laryngological Committee of the European Laryngological Society awarded a prize to Marina Alexandrovna Krishtopova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Chair of Otolaryngology, for outstanding research in neuro-laryngology presented at the Congress of the Society "Neuroimaging of the voice: methods and protocols."

On 26 – 27 April 2018, the rector of VSMU Professor A.T. Shchastniy visited Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU). BelSU is one of the leading universities in the Russian Federation, which consists of 7 institutes, 3 faculties and 2 branches. At the moment, more than 24,000 students from 85 regions of the Russian Federation and 79 countries of the world study at BelSU with more than 1,700 faculty members involved in training process.

On April 20, 2018, III International Scientific and Practical Conference of foreign students and Master’s students “Foreign Students to Belarusian Science” was held in Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. 9 students of the Faculty of Overseas Students Training of VSMU participated in it. The students provided abstracts for publication in the electronic collection in advance. At the conference the students made presentations and very interesting reports in English. They presented reports in the following areas: social and humanities sciences and biological sciences. Students from Sri Lanka, Cote d'Ivoire and Kazakhstan: Sriganeshalingam Srishangna, Woleedh Amani, Udamuhandiram Kethmi Navodya, Mohamed Nazwan, Albert Joel, Xavier Chrijit Samjeevan, Raveendran Ume Gayathrie, Djohore Elvis Armone, Perepelitsa Valentina - received I, II and III degrees.

Our congratulations to VSMU team for taking 1st place at the Republican Olympiad in "Pediatrics" among students studying at higher medical institutions in specialty 1-79 01 01 "General Medicine".

On April 5-6, 2018, the Republican Olympiad on the academic discipline "Pediatrics" was held on the basis of "Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University" among students of higher medical educational establishments in specialty 1-79 01 01 "General Medicine" and 1-79 01 02 "Pediatrics", where VSMU team was the best.

On 19-30 March 2018, VSMU welcomed guests from the Republic of Kazakhstan - representatives of Karaganda Medical University: the Head of the Department of Pediatrics and Perinatology, Professor Abeuova Bibigul and the Head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Surgical Dentistry, Associate Professor Tuleutaeva Svetlana, who under the Agreement on Cooperation between our universities gave lectures to students and academic staff.
