A volleyball tournament for the VSMU Rector's Cup with the participation of women's teams of medical universities of the Republic of Belarus has begun at Vitebsk State Medical University

The grand opening of this tournament, which has already become traditional, took place in the large sports hall of VSMU on December 3, 2024. The University's Rector Alexey Chukanov and the Chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers Vladimir Plytkevich addressed the audience with words of greeting.

On December 4, 2024, a meeting was held between the Deputy of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies, the Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Chukanov with the work collective of Gymnasium No. 1 named after Zh.I. Alferov.

On December 1, 2024, the basketball championship among women's and men's teams of the Sri Lanka community was held in the sports hall of the "Vitebsky" Central Sports Complex.

The fourth-year men's team "Exorians" won the hot tournament. Among the girls, the third-year team "Troizeanz" was the best. Spectators and fans received a charge of positive emotions.

Despite the competitive spirit, such championships undoubtedly strengthen friendships between students.

On December 3, 2024, the faculty of pre-university training of VSMU held a career guidance excursion for the graduating students of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 43 of Vitebsk named after M.F. Shmyrev", during which the students got acquainted with the history and structure of the university, the features of admission to VSMU.

As part of the event, the Head of the Department of Human Anatomy Tesfaye W.A. gave the students a tour of the anatomical museum of VSMU with a demonstration of collections of anatomical preparations, models and dummies.

During the meeting, the students received answers to their questions.

On December 3, 2024, the Rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov met with the students of the university, who during 2024 took an active part in sports competitions of various levels and achieved significant results there.
