The VSMU student Karolina Grigorieva, under the supervision of the Head of the VSMU research laboratory, MD, professor Sergei Stefanovich Osochuk, developed an experimental drug that prevents the development of acute adrenal insufficiency in sepsis.

On January 3, 2025 within the framework of the Republican charity action “From the bottom of my heart” the representatives of trade union organization of VSMU employees together with the administration, primary organization “Belarusian Union of Women” of VSMU and Veterans Council congratulated the employees - veterans of the University, with New Year and Christmas holidays.

The passing year of 2024 was full of various important events. We together with the whole country took an active part in the campaign to elect deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly and local councils, represented VSMU worthily on one of the platforms of the XI Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus and, certainly, celebrated the 90th anniversary of the founding of Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University. I express my gratitude to each of you for creative labor, hard study, devotion to the chosen cause and contribution to the development of the University and our country.

I wish the coming year 2025 to be generous with new achievements, victories and breakthrough ideas; to present bright events and unforgettable impressions.

On December 30, 2024 the faculty of pre-university training of VSMU held a career guidance meeting for the students of final classes of the State Educational Institution “Secondary school named after M.V. Oktyabrskaya in Liozno settlement”, within the framework of which the Head of the Department of Human Anatomy Tesfaye Volde Asfau conducted for the students an excursion to the anatomical museum of VSMU with the demonstration of anatomical exhibits.

During the meeting schoolchildren were told about the University and peculiarities of admission to VSMU, also the children had an opportunity to ask questions and get answers to them.

Within the framework of the republican New Year action “Our Children” in VSMU the charity action “Give warmth to children” took place.

The students and employees of the University were able to give all their warmth and care to children in the form of handmade hats, mittens and sweaters. The collected items were packed in beautiful New Year's packages and given as a gift with sweets to the children of the Vitebsk Regional Specialized Children's Home.

Also on December 30, 2024, volunteers of the squad “Always Saving Good” of VSMU visited the inmates of Vitebsk Regional Children's Home, for whom they prepared a performance “Stolen Lights”. The kids were happy to see fairy-tale characters, they were dancing roundelay, recited poems and sang songs. At the end of the event each child received a sweet gift from Santa Claus.
