On September 13, 2023, Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov and Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work Denis Lits met with Neptali Sancho, a 1987 graduate of Vitebsk State Medical Institute from Ecuador. Neptali worked in his country's healthcare system for 36 years and gladly took the opportunity to revisit his alma mater, meet with the university leadership and professors who once taught him.

A solemn commencement convocation with students of the 37th graduation of the Faculty of Overseas Students Training, graduates of which were 234 students, took place in the hall of the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic On June 28, 2023.

On May, 31st the lecture of Mr. Liu Ningsheng, Professor of English, Supervisor of Master’s Candidate at Gannan Medical University was held. The topic was “Cultural Awareness in Pluricultural Communication”. The lecture was presented to FOST students.

Farewell of Xanthrons (batch of 2023) held on 28th of May at U Ganna Restaurant which was organised by Stallions (Batch of 2025). Ms. Maria Alexevna, Ms. Lobov Igorevna, Dr. Denesh Nithyanandadeva, Dr. R.Nirmalan, Sri Lankan Union President Mr.Haznath Razool and Indian Union President Mr.Prathiv Chakravarthee lighted the traditional oil lamp to symbolise the beginning of the event. The evening was very emotional for all of us as our seniors have come down to their last few days of student life. Xanthrons as a batch have been an enormous source of support and inspiration for all the juniors. 

For the first time at the large sports hall of VSMU, interuniversity basketball competitions called “Hyper Hoop All Star Basketball Championship-2023” were held among men's and women's teams of students from the community of Sri Lanka. Basketball Championship was organized by the dean's office of the FOST, the sports club and the Sri Lankan Medical Students Union. Students from Vitebsk, Minsk, Grodno took part in the Championship. The match between the Belarusian and Sri Lankan women's teams was very exciting. The strongest and best teams and players received prizes and trophies, but of course friendship won!
