Organization of educational process

The introduction of the quality management system is a transformation of the department's activities in accordance with the quality management system (QMS) documents prepared, approved and put into effect. To this end, the duties, authority and responsibility of each employee within the framework of the QMS were determined in the workplace, and staff records of the documented procedures were checked. The requirements and recommendations of the ISO 9000: 2009 series provide for the regular conduct of internal audits, both for individual work processes and for the quality system as a whole. QMS is being monitored; discussion of the main issues on the introduction and improvement of the QMS at the meetings of the department.

Biomedical Ethics and Communications in Health Protection.
Two disciplines are also electively taught:

"School of Management" and "Lifestyle, Health, Success".

To ensure the teaching of mentioned disciplines, the department published more than 30 educational and teaching aids.

The basis of the educational activity of the department is based on the introduction of methodological techniques and modern pedagogical techniques that enhance the effectiveness of the quality of the educational process. They include: the creation of a distance learning system Moodle, which includes 17 blocks of documents for five faculties; stage control of the initial level of knowledge, current, boundary, final control with a rating assessment of knowledge; on the basis of the created standard and educational programs, it instills a methodology for working with primary sources, skills in performing abstract teaching and research works, studying educational, scientific, reference literature, historical and pharmaceutical information on the Internet; students attendance monitoring of lectures, seminars, laboratory and practical classes; performance of individual assignments under the guidance of the teacher, conducting final lessons, colloquiums, test control, writing control tasks, homework assignments, abstracts, etc .; preparation and control of the performance of the coursework; conducting current and examination consultations of students; final control, carried out in the form of course and state examinations. During the examination, the quality of learning the theoretical material, practical skills and abilities, as well as the skills of solving the situational tasks that are included in each examination ticket, are checked.

During the medical practice in discipline, each student performs individual tasks, conducts research and development work, masters the methods of teaching skills and approves the means of medical and hygienic training, education and the formation of a healthy lifestyle among the population.

Educational and methodical complexes for the disciplines of the department and elective disciplines are systematically improved; processing of educational and methodological materials, calendar-thematic plans, methodical instructions for students and teachers in specialties 1-79-01 01 "General Medicine"; 1-79-01 08 "Pharmacy"; 1-79-01 07 "Stomatology".

A methodology for managed independent work has been created. Head of the Department, Professor V.S. Glushanko and graduate associate T.N. Kovalevskaya are certified for the right to teach in English.

A system of rating evaluation of the activities of the faculty and its professional competence was introduced.

In order to optimize the educational process and control the quality of education, there have been developed: general routine and curriculum document, end-to-end plans for teaching health issues; program issues of final and boundary knowledge control; control questions for the test control, a list of tasks for the educational and research work of students, situational tasks, methods for inculcating skills and abilities to students, quality standards for teaching, a model for calculating the rating of knowledge, monitoring of students’ performance. The innovative activity of the department is aimed at raising the level of quality of educational and methodological material, the publication of modern aids, which guarantee the training of highly qualified personnel - medical specialists, health care organizers, pharmacists, researchers.

The following things are developed: a standard curriculum for the discipline "History of Pharmacy", teaching materials (TM) and electronic teaching materials (ETM); end-to-end plans for health education; program issues of final and boundary knowledge control; control questions for the test control, a list of tasks of the educational and research work of students, situational tasks, methods for developing the competence of students, quality standards for teaching, monitoring the progress of students and much more.

A wide arsenal of traditional and innovative forms and methods of teaching is used: problem lectures, lectures with case studies, creative assignments, academic competitions, business simulation games, portfolios, etc. A new type of educational literature is used, including specialized professional electronic resources.

All the staff of the department boost their professional level at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining of various levels: "Organizational and methodological approaches to teaching foreign students in English in the institution of higher medical education"; "English language in the framework of the TEMPUS-4 project in the field of educational management "; "Modern information technologies in medical education"; "The activity of a teacher of an institution of higher medical education on the organization of ideological and educational work in an academic group in modern conditions"; "Organizational and methodical aspects of the introduction of the Moodle system into the educational process of the medical university"; participation in congresses, conferences and seminars, publication of educational and methodical works, work on the Internet and much more.
