From November 15 to December 5, 2023, in preparation for the New Year holidays, in hostel No. 8 of Vitebsk State Medical University, a competition of New Year's drawings on glass “Based on fairy tales” was held, organized by the administration, the student council of hostel No. 8 and the trade union committee of VSMU students.

The purpose of the competition was to develop students' interest in the history of holidays associated with the New Year, Christmas, New Year traditions among the Slavs, Western and Eastern countries, and to identify creative abilities among university students.

The chairman of the students' trade union committee, Alexander Myasoedov, and the chairman of the student council of hostel No. 8, Elizaveta Kasperovich, on December 6, in the hostel No. 8 of VSMU, thanked the participants who, on the 16 floors of the hostel foyer, reflected their view of the New Year holidays in the form of drawings on glass, and awarded the winners and prize-winners of the competition with sweet gifts from the trade union committee of VSMU students.
