On February 13, 2024, VSMU hosted a dialogue platform dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan “Afghanistan – our memory and pain” with the participation of internationalist soldiers, teachers of the military department V.V. Sirotko, S.S. Trishina, V.N. Vladimirova and university students.

The Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalya Boltrushevich addressed the event participants with a welcoming speech.

During the dialogue platform, students watched the documentary film “Afghanistan. The Last Soldier,” we got acquainted with the chronicle of military events of those years; Sergei Trishin shared his memories of the Afghan War. VSMU students prepared creative performances and presented flowers to internationalist soldiers.
