On February 14, 2024, a solemn ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus was held at the Vitebsk State Medical University, dedicated to the beginning of the second academic semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the rector of the university Alexey Chukanov, the administration of VSMU, students, teachers and invited guests.

The rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov and the secretary of the PO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" of VSMU Natalya Gaponko addressed those present with a welcoming speech.

The honorary right to raise the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus was granted to the Chairman of the VSMU Student Council, the 2nd year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics Polina Denisenok, a Presidential Scholar,the 4th year student of the Faculty of Dentistry Fyodor Chernenko, the scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Social Support of Gifted Pupils and Students, the 4th year student Faculty of Medicine Kira Shuverova, the scholarship holder of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for social support of gifted pupils and students, the 5th year student of the Faculty of Pharmacy Ilya Nogach, the 6th year student of the FOST Ranamuni Velisaraga.
