On March 13, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Nazarkuly Shakuliyev, visited VSMU.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Nazarkuly Shakuliyev and the Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov, the Vice-rector for international relations and organizational and legal work Denis Lits, the Head of the department of international and interregional relations Elena Sharykhina, the VSMU Dean of the Overseas Student’s Training Faculty Vyacheslav Pobyarzhin.

At the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed on the learning and living conditions of students from Turkmenistan at the university, the export of educational services, and cooperation between VSMU and universities of Turkmenistan.

During the visit, the guests were introduced to the history of the university, the material and technical base, and the organization of the educational process. Mr. Nazarkuly Shakulyev highly appreciated the material and technical equipment of the university and the conditions created at VSMU for the training of highly qualified specialists.

The Embassy delegation met with VSMU students from among the citizens of Turkmenistan, who spoke about their life in Vitebsk, shared positive emotions and reviews about studying at VSMU, and asked questions that interested them.
