“St. Petersburg meetings” in the Republic of Belarus

peter vstrechi 01On March 25, 2024, as part of the “St. Petersburg Meetings” in the Republic of Belarus, a visit of a delegation from St. Petersburg to Vitebsk State Medical University took place.

During the visit, the delegates got acquainted with the history of VSMU, the material and technical base, the organization of the educational process, and a round table was organized “Exchange of experience in the field of healthcare as a necessary condition for improving the quality and accessibility of primary health care for the population; forecasting labor resources in the health care system in conditions of personnel shortages.”

The round table was attended by the Rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov, the First Vice-rector Alina Shchupakova, the Vice-rector for international relations and organizational and legal work Denis Lits, the Vice-rector for medical work Maxim Savchuk, the Head of the department of international and interregional relations Elena Sharykhina, the Dean of the faculty of advanced training and retraining personnel Tatyana Dmitrachenko, the Associate Professor of the Department of Phthisiopulmonology Natalya Vasilenko, the Deputy Head of the State Healthcare Institution of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Andrey Kakoichenko, the Deputy Head of the State Healthcare Institution of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Lyudmila Kovaleva, the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Petrodvortsovo District of St. Petersburg Maxim Petrov, the Chief Physician of the Secondary Educational Institution of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "City Clinic No. 122" Elena Litvinova, the Chief Physician of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “Nikolaevskaya Hospital” Dmitry Reshetnik.

At the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed on the practice-oriented approach to personnel training, the main trends in healthcare development, and the organization of on-site appointments for the population to improve the quality and accessibility of primary health care.
