On April 5, 2024, at the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Center in the lecture hall of the pediatric faculty, a regional training seminar “The concept of the first 1000 days of life: nutrition of pregnant women, nursing mothers and children of the first year of life." This seminar was organized with the active participation of the VSMU employees of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2.

The Head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 Zhuravleva L.N. read the report “Nutrition after birth - the priority of breastfeeding”, the Associate Professor Potapova V.E. made presentations “Health programming – the concept of the first 1000 days of life” and “Breast milk substitutes: what’s where? When? to whom?". In their reports, the employees of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2 highlighted the important problem of the influence of nutrition during pregnancy and in the first years of a child’s life on the risk of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and atherosclerosis in the future. The information presented aroused keen interest among the students of the Faculty of Medicine and the employees of the Departments of Pediatrics of VSMU.
