On April 17, 2024, VSMU hosted a dialogue platform with the 1st year students of the Faculty of Medicine on the topic “Investigation of the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people: restoration of historical justice.” The speaker of the event was the Senior Assistant Prosecutor of Vitebsk Kim Lev Pavlovich.

Data on the progress of the criminal investigation were announced. The fact of establishing the place of mass extermination of people in the Ivanovshchina tract of the Logoisk district was noted. According to experts, the remains of 1,020 people were recovered from this place, more than half of which were women and children.

During search operations in the Beshenkovichi district, the remains of at least 80 people were raised from the ground. Information was received about the presence of at least 7 mass grave sites from the Great Patriotic War near the Uruchye tract near Minsk with a total number of buried about 38 thousand people.

These facts allow us to assert that the consequences of the policy of genocide for the Belarusian people turned out to be more severe than previously thought.
