On January 17, 2026, the retirement ceremony for the Head of the Industrial Internship Department, Valeria Vladimirovna Olshannikova, took place.

The Rector of the University, Aleksey Chukanov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Natalya Konevalova, the staff of the dean's offices, and colleagues gathered in the conference hall of the main academic building to express their gratitude to Valeria Vladimirovna for her many years of conscientious work for the benefit of the Vitebsk State Medical University, to thank her for their joint work, and to wish her many years of an active life full of joyful events in her new status.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs noted that Valeria Vladimirovna Olshannikova's work experience in training personnel for the healthcare of the Republic of Belarus has spanned a full 30 years; reminded those gathered about how skillfully and professionally the work of the industrial practice department was organized during the very difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic and about how much Valeria Vladimirovna had done to improve the system of practical training of students during their internship aimed at developing professional skills. At the end of her speech, Natalya Yuryevna, with her characteristic sense of humor, explained to those gathered: "It was Valeria Vladimirovna's personal decision to get the status of a grandmother!" Many warm words were said, flowers and a Certificate of Honor were presented, and memorable photographs were taken.
