On February 26, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University held a report trade union conference. The event gathered the representatives of the trade union organization of the university staff to summarize the results of work for the past period (from March 20, 2024 - February 26, 2025) and to discuss plans for the future.

Alexander Myasoedov, the Chairman of the trade union committee of VSMU employees, made a report, in which he highlighted in detail the results of the trade union committee's work. He noted successes in protection of employees' rights, improvement of labor conditions and social support of trade union members. Plans for the coming year, including new initiatives and projects, were also announced.

Denis Lits, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Organizational and Legal Work of VSMU, in his speech emphasized the importance of social partnership in the development of the University. He noted that the interaction between administration and trade union organization is a key factor in creating favorable working environment and achieving strategic goals of the University

 “Social partnership is not just a formality, but a basis for constructive dialog and joint solution of tasks aimed at improving working conditions and improving the quality of life of our employees,” Denis Nikolayevich noted.

The Chairman of the Audit Commission Andrey Shulmin presented a report on the financial activities of the trade union organization. The rapporteur emphasized that all funds were used in accordance with the approved estimates and directed to the implementation of social programs and support of employees.

Yulia Khomchenko, the treasurer of VSMU staff , presented the revised estimate, which was approved by the participants of the conference. The speaker explained in detail how the funds will be distributed in the current year. Yulia Viktorovna also made a report on budget fulfillment for the past year. She noted that all planned activities were realized and financial discipline was observed. The participants discussed and approved the estimates for the next year.

Alexander Myasoedov presented the draft Regulations on the Assistance Fund, which was unanimously approved.

“The Assistance Fund is an important tool for providing material support to the employees in difficult life situations,” said Alexander Mikhaylovich.

Olga Fedchuk, the Chairman of the Commission for Public Control over Compliance with Labor Legislation and Execution of Collective Agreement, made a report on the implementation of the collective agreement. She noted that all obligations to the employees had been fulfilled and working conditions met the established standards.

She also presented proposals for additions and amendments to the Collective Agreement. The participants of the conference discussed and approved new provisions that will contribute to further improvement of labor conditions.

Changes were made in the composition of the audit commission of the employees' trade union committee, which were supported by the conference participants.

During the event the First Vice-rector of VSMU Alina Shchupakova and the Head of the department of organizational work of Vitebsk regional organization of BUHW Dmitry Parevsky made speeches. They highly appreciated the work of the trade union committee of the University and appreciated the systematic and multidirectional nature of the trade union's work.

At the end of the conference Lits Denis Nikolayevich, Shulmin Andrei Vladimirovich, Prokhorenko Dmitry Alexandrovich, Sushko Olga Alexandrovna, Getmonov Artem Vladimirovich were awarded with the Gratitude of the presidium of the regional committee of Vitebsk regional organization of BUHW for their significant contribution to the strengthening of trade union movement, fruitful work in the health care system, high professionalism in their work.

The conference was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere. The participants actively discussed the presented issues and made suggestions. At the end of the event important decisions were made, which are aimed at further development of trade union organization and improvement of working conditions of VSMU employees.
