On April 21, 2025, in VSMU the meeting of the head of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Svetlana Avik as well as the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Organisational and Legal Work Denis Lits with the management of the Faculty of Overseas Student’s Training and the head and the representatives of the Sri Lankan community took place.

In the course of the event they discussed the issues of compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus when organising and holding mass events, as well as topical aspects of migration legislation. The participants were informed about the rules of stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the country, the procedure of drawing up documents and responsibility for violation of the established norms.

Particular attention was paid to explaining the rights and obligations of foreign students, as well as the prevention of possible offences. During the dialogue, the representatives of the university and the Migration Service answered all the questions of interest, which contributed to improving the legal literacy of those present.
