On April 24 and 26, 2025, the employees and students of VSMU visited the place of mass destruction and burial of genocide victims on the territory of Lepel district, established during the investigation of the criminal case on genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

The participants of the event honoured the memory of the victims at the grave pit, where the remains of several hundred civilians and prisoners of war, victims of crimes against humanity, are buried.

In the course of the criminal investigation, previously unknown places of destruction and burial of civilians and prisoners of war are being identified throughout the country. To date, there are 166 such sites, more than half of which are mass graves.
