On May 6, 2025, on the eve of the landmark date for the whole Belarusian people - the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, a solemn planting of the Apple Tree Alley of Memory took place at Vitebsk State Medical University.

Ten young saplings symbolizing life, connection of generations and eternal gratitude to the heroes were planted on the territory of the university.

The Rector Alexey Chukanov, the representatives of administration, the public and student organizations of the university took part in the event.

The Rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov noted: "Planting of the alley became a symbol of gratitude to all those who during the Great Patriotic War bravely fought against Nazi invaders and forged our Victory in the rear. The apple tree was chosen for a reason: its spring blossom symbolizes rebirth and hope, and its ripe fruit symbolizes gratitude and the continuation of life.

The Alley of Memory will become a special place on the university campus, where meetings and events will be held on memorable dates".
