Dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War...

large scale concert 01On May 7, 2025, a large-scale concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was held in VSMU. The program under the poetic title “Fates stacked in a triangle” gathered the audience of different generations to remember together the feat of the people who defended freedom and peace in the most terrible war of the twentieth century.

The event was attended by the guests of honor: the chairman of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies Olga Ivanova, the chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers Vladimir Plytkevich, the rector of VSMU Alexei Chukanov, the administration, staff and students of the university.

The concert became a real dialog between the past and the present. Through songs of war years, poems, choreographic performances and theatrical sketches artists of creative groups of the student club of VSMU recreated the atmosphere when every family waited for news from the front - those very letters-triangles, which became a symbol of hope. And today, 80 years later, these letters remind: heroism and love for the Motherland are timeless.

From the stage sounded legendary works, in which - all the pain of loss and joy of the long-awaited May 1945.

The bright moment of the festive concert was the performance of the trio “For the Motherland” – the VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Organizational and Legal Work Denis Lits, the Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Dmitry Kuzhel performed the well-known compositions “At the Nameless Height” and “Victory Day”.

The event became one more evidence that the memory of the Great Patriotic War and its heroes lives in the hearts of new generations. As long as we remember - the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers remains immortal.

“No one is forgotten, and nothing is forgotten” - these words sound today more weighty than ever.

As long as the memory is alive, the link between generations is alive, and thus the future of our country is in safe hands.
