On May 7, 2025, on the initiative of the Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov and primary public organizations (veterans, branch trade union, Belarusian Union of Women, "Belaya Rus") a festive lunch for the veterans of VSMU (category "Children of War") dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held.

At the beginning of the meeting Denis Lits, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Organizational and Legal Work, addressed the audience and conveyed congratulations and warmest wishes to the veterans from Alexey Chukanov, the Rector of the University.

The festive dinner was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere: the veterans recalled the hard war years, joint work, sang songs of the war years, shared their impressions of the present day.
