On May 8, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a solemn event dedicated to Victory Day and the Day of the State Flag, National Emblem and National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus.

The solemn event was attended by Vladimir Plytkevich, the Chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Health Workers, the representatives of the administration, teachers, and other officials. The Rector of the University Aleksey Chukanov addressed the audience with words of congratulations.

In his speech Alexey Nikolaevich noted:

"Our State Flag contains in itself a particle of that banner of Victory in 1945, thanks to which the freedom and independence of our Motherland was restored. We will always remember those who gave us the opportunity to work and live under a peaceful sky today".

The honorable right to raise the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus was given to the Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service Tatyana Aksinushkina, the 5th year student Fyodor Cherenk, the 4th year student Pyotr Bliznev, the 2nd year student Polina Kondratenko and the 6th year student Izke Mohamed (Maldives).

At the end of the festive event the 4th year student Elena Nemshon sang the song “For Belarus” for the audience.
