On May 21, 2025, at the stadium of Vitebsk State Medical University a military-patriotic sports-medical event “Zarnitsa-2025” was held, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The event began with the ceremony of laying flowers to the memorial plaque in honor of the outstanding figure of science and medicine - Sergey Ivanovich Belov, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Honored Military Doctor, Colonel of Medical Service, Knight of the Order of the Red Star and the Order of the Patriotic War I degree.

Five teams of VSMU students, a team of university teachers, as well as a team of Antonov Medical College took part in the competition.

The teams demonstrated not only physical preparation, but also professional knowledge: they solved pharmacological and clinical problems, showed skills in the field of pharmacognosy, passed tests on military training and competed in a sports relay race.

The event was held in the atmosphere of friendly competition with active support of fans – the students and staff of VSMU. During the break everyone could taste real soldier's porridge, which added a traditional flavor to the event.

Results of the competition:

- I place was taken by the team of VSMU teachers “Ases”;

- Diploma of II degree was awarded to the team “Zarnichnye warriors”;

- Diploma of III degree was won by the team “Sanitary Special Forces”.

In addition, the participants received memorable prizes from the administration and trade union organizations of the university.

“Zarnitsa-2025” in VSMU became a bright event that united sport, science and memory of the heroic past. We congratulate the winners and thank all participants for excellent preparation!
