On June 10, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted the solemn ceremony of hoisting the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus dedicated to the Day of Medical Workers and the end of the academic year.

The Representatives of administration, teachers and students of VSMU took part in the solemn event.

The Rector of the University Alexey Chukanov addressed the audience with words of congratulations: ‘Summarising the results of the year, we can confidently say that we have achieved high results due to diligence, professionalism and cohesion of our staff. On the eve of the Day of Medical Workers I would like to wish you, dear colleagues and students, good health, inexhaustible patience, inspiration and new achievements. May your knowledge and dedication serve for the benefit of people, and good luck accompany you in all your endeavours. These are the qualities that make us real professionals - those who bring the light of health and hope!

The honourable right to raise the flag of the Republic of Belarus was given to: the Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service, Senior Lecturer of the Military Department Arseny Tsygankov, the students - Dzhanoyan Alyona, Kozlov Kirill and Kharchenko Daniil.

The event ended with a traditional musical composition - Olga Azarenko, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, performed the song ‘I'm coming back’, dedicated to warm memories of her motherland.
