On the eve of the professional holiday - the Day of Medical Workers, June 11, 2025, a ceremony of honouring medical workers of the Vitebsk region was held in the cultural centre ‘Polotsk’.

Boris Androsyuk, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Vyacheslav Durnov, the Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, the Head of the Main Health Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Plytkevich, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organisation of the BUHW, and others congratulated the medical workers on the holiday.

During the ceremony the VSMU staff was awarded - the Gratitude of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus was announced to:

Valentina Kugach, the Dean of Pharmaceutical Faculty of VSMU;

Vladimir Voronovich, the Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology Department;

Kristina Shilina, the Senior Lecturer of General Medical Practice Department;

Galina Kotovich, the laboratory assistant of the 1^st category of Pharmacy Organisation and Economics Department;

Svetlana Shpakova, the cleaner of territories of the 2^nd categories of economic part of VSMU.

Delegation of VSMU headed by the Rector Alexey Chukanov took part in the festive event.

Aleksey Nikolaevich presented the representatives of the health care system of Vitebsk region with the Certificates of Honour of Vitebsk State Medical University, noting the fruitful cooperation with the University, selfless labour and significant contribution to the preservation and strengthening of health of the inhabitants of the northern region.

The guests of the holiday were presented the exposition of VSMU, demonstrating the latest achievements of the university in the field of medical education, innovative technologies and scientific research.
