On June 16, 2025, the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee hosted a meeting of the Head of the region Alexander Subbotin with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus Santiago Perez Benitez.

The meeting was attended by the First Vice-Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University Alina Shchupakova.

During the talks, the parties discussed topical issues and prospects of bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to interaction in education and science. The possibilities of joint projects in training highly qualified personnel, as well as exchange of experience in the field of pharmacy, clinical medicine and other areas of medical science were considered.
