On July 2, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a solemn event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

In his address to the audience, the University Rector Alexey Chukanov noted:

"... The fact that all conditions have been created today for us to work peacefully is a great merit of previous generations.

And I am sure that we will be worthy followers of them..."

The honorary right to raise the flag of the Republic of Belarus was granted to Lieutenant Colonel of the medical service Tatyana Anatolyevna Aksinushkina, the 1st-year student Ivan Lebedev, the 2nd-year student Alena Janoyan, the 4th-year students Matugamage Don Binush Niluminda, Pavel Pashkevich and Peter Bliznev.

Ekaterina Dyakova, a 2nd year student, wonderfully performed the song "The Sun over Belarus".
