On September 2, 2025, the Summer Amphitheater became the epicenter of a festive atmosphere. A ceremonial event dedicated to Knowledge Day took place here, this year held under the inspiring motto “University of Great Opportunities.”

The celebration brought together the entire large and friendly university family. Attendees included the university rector Aleksei Chukanov, vice-rectors, deans, the teaching staff, and, of course, the main stars of the event – students, whose eyes sparkled with curiosity and anticipation of a new stage in their lives.

Rector Aleksei Nikolaevich Chukanov addressed the audience with encouraging words. He congratulated the students on beginning an exciting journey into the world of medicine and pharmacy, and wished them inexhaustible energy in achieving professional heights.

The highlight of the celebration was a beautiful tradition – the initiation into students. Freshmen were handed symbols of their future profession: “The Medical Alphabet,” “The Pharmacist’s Primer,” “The Dentist’s Alphabet,” and “The Pediatrician’s Alphabet,” along with symbolic student ID cards signed by the VSMU rector.

The freshmen sealed their aspirations with an oath, solemnly promising to be worthy of the title of student at one of the best medical universities in the country.

A wonderful creative gift for all attendees was the lively and energetic performances by talented groups from the VSMU Student Club. The audience clapped along to rhythmic dances, sang along with favorite songs, and paused in admiration while listening to touching poetry.

The celebration’s finale was truly heartfelt and grand. Performers on stage, together with the entire hall, sang the popular anthem “Hey, We’re VSMU!”

At the conclusion of the event, the rector congratulated the team and the leader of the VSMU "Tandem" vocal studio on being awarded the title of “People’s Studio.” 

This day will be remembered for a long time as the start of a new academic year full of discoveries, bright events, and great opportunities!
