On September 7, 2025, the primary trade union organization of VSMU staff organized a diverse sightseeing trip along the route Vitebsk – Verkhnedvinsk – Osvee – Sarya. The tour, titled "The Riches of the Lake Land," fully lived up to its name, providing participants with a multitude of vivid impressions.

Travelers visited the Verkhnedvinsk Butter and Cheese Factory, where they observed the full production cycle and sampled a variety of cheeses while learning the history and secrets behind each variety.

Next, the group embarked on an adventure – crossing to the uninhabited Du Island on Lake Osvee. Participants enjoyed a walk across one of the largest islands in Belarus, taking in the unique natural scenery.

In Osvee, attendees viewed Belarus’s second-largest lake and explored the building of the former hospital built in 1859, recognized as a monument of history and architecture.

The trip was rounded off in the village of Sarya, where visitors encountered the Neo-Gothic Assumption Church of the 19th century – a unique religious monument for Belarus that attracts many tourists.

The excursion was rich and varied, combining gastronomic tourism, natural beauty, and an acquaintance with the historic heritage of the region.
