On September 27, 2025, 90 employees and students of VSMU made an exciting trip to the Grand Duchy of Sula, the first interactive medieval history park in Belarus, located 50 km from Minsk on the shore of a picturesque lake.
A large stone at the entrance to the park commemorates that on September 17, 1939, the unification of Belarusian lands into a single country began from this place – then the so-called "old border" with Poland passed here.
The territory of the complex includes seven separate areas: the zone of ancient humans, the territory of ancient Belarusian cults and beliefs, the lands of the era of the Varangians, the Middle Ages and nobility, the Belarusian village and the Lensky Estate and Park Complex. It has its own bakery, cheese factory and distillery. Goats and sheep graze freely on the lawns, with which tourists play and take pictures with great pleasure.
Guides working with tourists in different locations speak beautiful Belarusian and are dressed in costumes appropriate to the era, and medieval music is playing softly from speakers disguised as stones throughout the Park, which creates an atmosphere of complete immersion in History.
It turned out to be a great success that the Holiday of Belarusian Mythology was celebrated in the Park on this day: there was a lot of interactive activities, costumed performances and delicious treats.
It was interesting and informative to get acquainted with pottery and blacksmithing, beekeeping and weaving, book printing and village life. The time spent in the Park flew by completely unnoticed...
This wonderful tour was organized jointly by the trade union committees of students and university staff.
