On October 1, on the Day of the Elderly, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a festive lunch to honor those who have worked or continue to work for the benefit of the university and our country for many years.

This celebratory event was organized thanks to the efforts of the university administration, veterans' and trade union organizations of VSMU, as well as the primary organizations of the «Belaya Rus» Party and the Belarusian Union of Women. The student club also presented a musical program featuring songs that have long been loved by the older generation.

In his address to the attendees, University Rector Alexey Chukanov recalled the words from the congratulatory message of the President of our country:

"Having devoted many years to creative work, raising children and grandchildren, you have earned honor and respect. Your social well-being and quality of life are the most important priorities of the state. This will continue to be so."

Sergey Fedorovich Geut, Chairman of the VSMU Veterans' Organization, mentioned in his speech that just recently, they congratulated Mikhail Alexandrovich Nikolsky on his 90th birthday, and Zinaida Yakovlevna Gibulina turned 91 this year! Sergey Fedorovich also presented diplomas and small gifts to the most active members of the veteran organization.

The atmosphere at the festive dinner was warm, sincere, and relaxed.
