Family as the foundation of society: a Single Information Day was held at VSMU

family basis of society 01On October 16, 2025, VSMU held a Single Information Day on the topic: "The Role of Family Values in Modern Society." As part of this event, Denis Lits, Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work, met with university students.

During the discussion, participants explored why the family remains the foundation not only for the individual but also for society as a whole.

In his speech, Denis Nikolaevich emphasized that Belarus traditionally prioritizes supporting and strengthening the institution of the family. He highlighted government programs currently in place that provide comprehensive assistance to families and create favorable conditions for the birth and upbringing of children.

"Family support is a key direction of our state's domestic policy, laying the foundation for demographic security and future prosperity in Belarus," Denis Lits noted.

Information Day at the Stomatological Faculty. At this meeting, Lyudmila Somova, Deputy Dean of Ideological and Educational Work, along with students, discussed the importance of family traditions and the need to preserve and strengthen them.

In today's rapidly changing world, the family remains an inviolable priority for our country. Belarusian state support and protection of families, backed by significant annual financial resources, is considered a national social brand.

Special attention was given to the VSMU Youth for Family Values project and the active participation of faculty students in this initiative.

Single Information Day at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining in Pedagogy and Psychology. During this session, the importance of family values as a guiding principle and a key factor in the successful development and sovereignty of the state was emphasized.

While mastering educational retraining programs, students acquire skills in pedagogical interaction with families, studying pedagogy and family psychology. At the Department of Foreign Languages, students develop competencies to discuss various aspects of family traditions and generational continuity in English. The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities covers the fundamentals of family law, including its concept, subjects, sources, and objects within the Republic of Belarus. At the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, students learn communicative standards for social interaction within the family as part of the FPC and PC course.

These educational efforts reflect the faculty’s contribution to family and gender education, fostering students’ responsible attitudes towards family, marriage, and child-rearing in alignment with Belarusian traditional values.

Single Information Day at the General Medicine Faculty. Dean Marina Fomina informed participants about the main directions of Belarusian state policy aimed at preserving traditional family values and their historical significance as the foundation of the Belarusian people’s way of life. In conclusion, Marina Petrovna stressed that a strong family is essential for the successful development of the state.

Single Information Day in Dormitory No. 4. N.U. Tikhanovich delivered a presentation highlighting the significant efforts made in Belarus to protect family values.

The Deputy Dean of the General Medicine Faculty also informed students about the university administration’s support available for students with families and young mothers.
