Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU and chief freelance specialist in ultrasound diagnostics of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, visited the Ministry of Health to monitor the organization of work on prenatal diagnosis of congenital fetal abnormalities in healthcare institutions of the Grodno region. This visit was conducted in accordance with instructions from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

The main objectives of the visit were to assess the quality of this specialized medical care, monitor the effectiveness of high-tech diagnostic equipment, and analyze the accessibility of ultrasound examinations for the public.

During the visit, Alexey Nikolaevich met with diagnostic doctors. In the course of the meetings, topical issues related to improving the detection of congenital fetal malformations and ensuring adherence to research standards were discussed. Additionally, he conducted a master class for specialists and provided advice on diagnostically complex cases of fetal malformations in patients from these healthcare institutions.

As part of the implementation of the strategy outlined by Minister of Health Alexander Valeryevich Khodzhaev to support young graduates, the rector also held meetings with young specialists and pharmacists assigned to healthcare institutions in the Grodno region.

During these meetings, Alexey Nikolaevich discussed mentoring, enhancing practical training, and updating curricula based on feedback from recent graduates regarding the relevance and applicability of their university education.

Special attention was given to solving housing and social issues, which are priorities of the government’s social policy.
