On October 22, 2025, at the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Center, a regional seminar titled "Modern Strategies for the Prevention of Diseases in Premature Infants" was held. The event was organized with the participation of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, with a course of Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining, and the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics, and Gynecology of Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining of VSMU.
Ekaterina Mitskevich, Head of the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics, and Gynecology at the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining of VSMU, delivered a presentation titled "The Issue of Prematurity: An Obstetrician-Gynecologist’s Perspective." Lyudmila Zhuravleva, Head of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, with the course of Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining, presented on "Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Premature Infants: Prevention and Treatment." Additionally, Professor Vladimir Matveev from the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, with a course of FPC and PC, spoke on "Routine Vaccination of Pregnant Women," while Associate Professor Vera Potapova discussed "Approaches to Managing Children with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Clinical Practice."
The presentations offered a modern perspective on the challenges of prematurity and emphasized a multidisciplinary approach to the care and health promotion of premature infants.
Students from the Pediatrics and General Medicine faculties, faculty members from the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining, as well as medical specialists, listened attentively to the presentations.
