On October 28, 2025, a videoconference was held between the leadership of Vitebsk State Medical University and Shandong Higher College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Colleagues from the Chinese institution were welcomed by Denis Lits, Vice-rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work; Elena Sharykhina, Head of the Department of International and Interregional Affairs; and Anna Pchelintseva, Head of the Department of International Affairs.
The main outcome of the meeting was an agreement to launch a joint educational program in 2026, which was officially approved by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China.
The parties outlined the key steps to be taken in the coming months to ensure the successful launch of joint activities in 2026. It is expected that the program will include student and teacher exchanges, the development of specialized training courses, as well as scientific conferences and seminars. Students will have access to the libraries and clinical databases of both institutions.
"We highly appreciate our cooperation," Denis Lits stated. "This partnership will create unique opportunities for our students and teachers to share cutting-edge scientific knowledge and conduct joint research."
For his part, Wang Ting, Vice President of the college, emphasized: "It is a great honor for us to collaborate with one of the leading medical universities in Belarus. I am confident that combining the core principles of European medical science with thousands of years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine will be highly fruitful. This cooperation will enrich our educational programs and contribute to the development of global health."
