On November 6, on the eve of the celebration of October Revolution Day, staff, students, and the university administration gathered at the VSMU flagpole to mark two significant events—each of which has left an indelible mark on our history and in our lives. The event's honorary guest was Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers.
The national flag of our country was solemnly raised to the sounds of the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus. This honorable duty was entrusted to Lieutenant Colonel of the medical service and senior lecturer of the military department, Arseniy Tsygankov, along with students Polina Ignachik, Egor Kostyukovich, Artem Torop, and Valeria Krupko.
Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU, addressed the attendees with words of congratulations. He remarked that even the unusually warm weather for November contributed to the spirit of unity and celebration for these two important events.
To conclude the festivities, the results of the creative competition among students and staff of the university, titled "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten," were announced. The floor was given to Igor Lyatos, head of the military department and chairman of the military-patriotic club "I Serve the Fatherland," Colonel of the medical service. Alexey Nikolaevich and Igor Alexandrovich presented diplomas and memorable gifts to the winners and prize-winners in various categories of the competition.
A beautiful finale was the performance by Ekaterina Dyakova and Evelina Stryukova, soloists of the national amateur band of the Republic of Belarus and members of “the Tandem” pop song studio.
