On 13.11.2025 year, Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University, Alexey Chukanov, participated in the work of the Republican Council of Rectors. The main focus of the meeting was improving the organization and implementation of research and development results to support the country's innovative development.

With the participation of the Minister of Education, A.I. Ivanets; the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, V.S. Karanik; and other key figures, the discussions centered on ways to address the tasks set by the country's leadership. These include increasing the practical orientation, research activities, and commercialization of university science developments to benefit the national economy, as well as strengthening scientific personnel potential.
