On November 14, 2025 year, the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples' Friendship Medical University hosted the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference "Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Methods in the Treatment of Abdominal Diseases." The event was organized in partnership with the Belarusian Association of Physicians and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.

The conference was held to mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Hospital Surgery, which includes the courses in the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining at VSMU.

In recognition of many years of fruitful work and in connection with the anniversary, the staff of the department was awarded a Gratitude from the rector of VSMU, Alexey Chukanov.
