On November 20, 2025, a cooperation agreement was signed between Vitebsk State Medical University and Vitebsk Broadcasting Company. Its purpose is to promote the positive results of the implementation of state social policy in the Vitebsk region. This project is the first in the country, with no analogues in the practice of universities in the republic.

Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU, and Vadim Lapatinsky, Director of Vitebsk Shopping Mall, signed a strategic partnership agreement. This step was a natural result of many years of fruitful cooperation between the institutions and is intended to bring the university’s information support to a qualitatively new level.

The strategic alliance between one of the country’s leading medical universities and the region’s largest media company aims at a comprehensive solution to key socially significant tasks. As part of their joint efforts, the partners will help strengthen the positive image of domestic medicine and medical education at regional and national levels, as well as actively promote the achievements of modern Belarusian medical science. Special attention will be paid to enhancing the prestige of VSMU as an advanced scientific and educational center.

The most important component of their cooperation will be the implementation of a large-scale program for the ideological, moral, and patriotic education of young people, involving students in active social practice to foster responsible civic positions. An equally important goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle and the comprehensive personality development among students.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, VSMU Rector Alexey Chukanov noted: "The new vector of cooperation between Vitebsk State Medical University and the Vitebsk Broadcasting Company lays a solid foundation for creating a unified information and educational space aimed at strengthening the authority of Belarusian medicine and promoting the education of a new generation of highly qualified specialists and patriots."
