On November 21, the republican scientific and practical conference with international participation, "Achievements of Russian Oncology," began its work at VSMU. The conference was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Department of Oncology with the Faculty of Advanced Training and Staff Retraining in Pedagogic and Psychology course.

The conference was opened by the First Vice-Rector of VSMU, Alina Shchupakova, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of scientific and educational work for the entire healthcare system of our country. She noted that this work has been carried out for many years by the staff of the Department of Oncology with the FPC and PC course.

Alina Nikolaevna congratulated the department staff and all attendees on their 50th anniversary. She also presented the Rector's Gratitude of the university, awarded by Alexey Chukanov, for many years of fruitful work, high professionalism, and significant contributions to the development of the university and medical science. The awards were bestowed upon the department's current head, Evgeny Shlyakhtunov, as well as VSMU veteran Professor Nikolai Grigoryevich Lud, who headed the department for many years.
