On November 29, 2025, the gyms of VSMU became the center of international student sports — two competitions took place simultaneously, involving students from the Faculty of Preparatory Training Course.
The mini-football championship was contested by teams from the Lebanese community. The tournament was dedicated to a national holiday — Lebanon’s Independence Day. In a tense and exciting struggle, where every victory was hard-fought, the honorable first place was awarded to the Lebanese Cedar team.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan national team and the Egyptian international team, which included students from Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine, engaged in a friendly yet intense volleyball match. After a series of bright and dynamic qualifying games, the team of Sri Lankan students, known as the Smashers, secured an outright victory.
Both sports grounds were filled not only with the spirit of healthy rivalry and sporting excitement but also with a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere. Vivid emotions, mutual support, and respect among participants were the main achievements of this day. And, of course, in these competitions—as in any true game—friendship was the ultimate winner!
