On December 3, 2025, Hermann Alexander Beyeler, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lucerne (Switzerland), paid a working visit to Vitebsk State Medical University.

The guest was welcomed by Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Health Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU; Denis Lits, Vice-Rector of International Affairs and Organizational and Legal Work; as well as heads of the university’s international departments: Elena Sharyhina, Head of the Department of International and Interregional Affairs, and Anna Pchelintseva, Head of the Department of International Affairs.

During the visit, Mr. Beyeler was presented with an overview of the university’s educational and scientific activities. He was also introduced to the university’s history, its material and technical facilities, and the broad range of educational opportunities available.

The visit aimed to address practical issues of bilateral cooperation in the social and humanitarian spheres, with particular focus on healthcare and sports.
