On December 5, 2025, the art exhibition "In Search of Inner Light" by Pavel Sleptsov, a 6th-year student of the General Medicine Faculty, opened in the lobby on the 1st floor of the Laboratory and Theoretical Building at VSMU. Vladimir Plytkevich, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Healthcare Workers; Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice-Rector of Ideological and Educational Work; as well as teachers and students of the university, attended the opening of the exhibition.
In 2020, Pavel became a student at VSMU, where he not only studies but also actively participates in cultural and sports events. Since his first year, he has taken part in athletics, all-around competitions, cross-country skiing, and shooting, often earning prizes in personal championships. Besides these activities, he also writes poetry.
In the visual arts, Pavel has mastered clay modeling, wood carving, drawing, and painting. Recently, he has begun working with oil paints. For Pavel, painting is a way of capturing and expressing human feelings and revealing spiritual truths. Since most of his works were created around the same time, they collectively represent the idea of a person’s harmony with oneself, others, and God.
Our university is home to many talented young people. An example is Ivan Beresnev, a 2nd-year student at the General Medicine Faculty, who wrote and performed a song himself, accompanying himself on the guitar.
The students at our university are incredibly talented! Their work consistently stands out for its originality, beauty, and imagination.
This exhibition is no exception—it is definitely worth visiting and getting acquainted with the artist’s paintings.
