On December 8, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted a significant cultural, historical, and spiritual event—the consecration of a memorial sign erected at the site of the temple in the name of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, dating back to the 17th century.

The consecration ceremony was conducted by Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.

Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, also participated in the event.

This occasion underscores the deep connection between medical science and issues of spirituality, morality, and the preservation of national historical and cultural heritage. The installation and consecration of the memorial sign served as an act of restoring historical memory and paying tribute to centuries-old traditions.
