On December 6-7, the Vitebsk Open Badminton Championship for men and women was held in the large sports hall of VSMU.

Students and staff of our university actively participated in the competition:

• In men's singles, Jayakumar Shobikshan (3rd year of the Overseas Students Training Faculty) secured 2nd place.
• In women's singles, Himandhi Nanayakkara (4th year of the Overseas Students Training Faculty) took 1st place.
• In men's doubles, Wijesena Minura Ransika and Jayakumar Shobikshan finished in 3rd place.
• In women's doubles, Himandhi Nanayakkara and Ruwini Kapuruge (both students of the Overseas Students Training Faculty) won 1st place.
