On December 10, 2025, Vitebsk State Medical University hosted an event that, without exaggeration, the entire university community had been eagerly awaiting — the grand opening of the assembly hall after comprehensive renovations.
The venue, which can accommodate more than 550 spectators, has been entirely upgraded and equipped with the latest technology. Modern audio and video equipment, along with innovative lighting systems, are now available for both the audience and performers.
Alexey Chukanov, Rector of VSMU, addressed the audience during the hall’s opening. He emphasized that the completion of the renovations coincided symbolically with the Year of Landscaping.
"We completed these works just in time for the Year of Landscaping, which, as the Head of State mentioned, is aimed at improving the quality of life in all areas," said Alexey Chukanov. "This also applies to education, which is one of the university’s main focuses. Our primary goal is to train highly qualified medical specialists, but it is equally important to foster well-rounded personalities and unlock their creative potential."
The Rector also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the project, noting that many decisions were made based on input from future student users.
The opening ceremony was festive, featuring a concert performed by the creative teams of the VSMU student club. Both the audience and performers appreciated the hall’s new features and technical equipment.
The opening of this modern, multifunctional space marks a new chapter in the life of the university, creating conditions not only for academic activities but also for the full development of the student community’s creative abilities.
