On December 9, 2025, VSMU officially launched the traditional interuniversity women’s volleyball tournament among medical university teams of the Republic of Belarus. The competition was held for the main trophy—the Cup of the Rector of VSMU.

The opening ceremony took place in the large sports hall of the university. Dmitry Kuzhel, Vice Rector of Ideological and Educational Work at VSMU, addressed the participants, coaches, and guests with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of future doctors and wished all teams a bright, fair competition and excellent results.

This year, the strongest student teams from the country’s medical universities competed for the right to hold the cup, including teams from VSMU, GrSMU, BSMU, and GomSMU. The competition lasted three days—from December 9 to December 11.

On December 11, the closing ceremony took place, during which the winners and prize-winners were awarded.

The BSMU team became the tournament champion, VSMU secured second place, GrSMU took third place, and GomSMU finished fourth.

Polina Trotskaya was recognized as the best player of the BSMU team, while Anna Petrovskaya, Margarita Svirskaya, and Victoria Lyapunova received individual awards from BSMU.

Rector of the university, Alexey Chukanov, and Vice Rector of Ideological and Educational Work, Dmitry Kuzhel, congratulated the participants, wished them continued sporting success, and presented them with sports regalia and memorable gifts.
