On December 23, a presentation of the collection of home essays by employees and veterans of VSMU, titled "The Great Patriotic War in the History of My Family," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, took place. Fragments of memories of heroic events were shared.
Russian and foreign students read poetry about the war with deep emotion. Daria Shapetko, a student of the pediatric faculty, was particularly moved by the performance of the song "Prayer." A veteran of VSMU labor, a juvenile prisoner, Professor Mikhail Alexandrovich Nikolsky, shared his memories of a challenging military childhood. Additionally, Alexey Filippovich Zadorozhny, a veteran of labor, spoke about the heroism of his father, who participated in the Great Patriotic War. No one was left indifferent after hearing the war poems recited by Mikhail Alexandrovich Nikolsky and Tatyana Veniaminovna Petrovskaya.
Throughout the event, an emotional and touching atmosphere prevailed, and tears appeared in the eyes of many attendees. The collection was published thanks to the initiative of VSMU Rector Alexey Nikolaevich Chukanov. The editor-in-chief of the collection is Ivan Alekseevich Floreanu, Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.
